Disabled Friendly Living Day

Rights of Disabled Individuals and Accessibility – For a Barrier-Free World in Physical, Social, and Digital Spaces

As part of the "One Day For Globe" movement, every year on November 11, we take steps to create an accessible and inclusive society that will improve the quality of life for individuals with disabilities. With the principle of equality and justice, we aim to remove barriers together so that every individual has equal opportunities.

To build a society that respects the rights of disabled individuals, we demand accessibility in every area, from public spaces to digital platforms. Every step we take toward an inclusive future means creating a space of freedom for all members of society.

What Should We Do?

  1. Accessibility in Public Spaces: Parks, sidewalks, public buildings, and public transport should be organized in a way that everyone can use them independently. It is especially essential to restructure public institutions to meet the needs of disabled individuals.
  2. Access to Education and Employment: From education to the workplace, arrangements should be made to ensure equal access to opportunities for disabled individuals in schools, workplaces, and educational fields.
  3. Digital Accessibility: Websites, mobile applications, and digital platforms should also be made suitable for the use of disabled individuals. Every individual should be able to access information in the digital world and benefit from these opportunities.
  4. Social Awareness and Education: Raising awareness in society about the importance of accessibility, understanding the challenges faced by disabled individuals, and fostering sensitivity in this regard are crucial.

The Responsibility of Public Institutions

Public institutions must act to ensure accessibility from physical spaces to digital platforms to enhance the quality of life for disabled individuals. It is important to make appropriate arrangements in public buildings and services, ensure ease of access in public transport, and implement necessary regulations in all public areas for disabled individuals.

Overcoming Barriers Together

Today, every step we take to remove barriers as part of "Dünya İçin Bir Gün" is a testament to our belief in a more equal, just, and inclusive world. A world accessible to everyone is a bright future we will build together.
